Summit for the attractiveness of France

Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, started the summit on attractiveness of France was held on January 22 in Versailles in the presence of 140 heads of international companies.

Facebook seized the opportunity to announce the development of its research centre focused with artificial intelligence in France. To this end, the number of researchers of the Facebook Artificial Intelligence Researchers (FAIR) Paris will go from 30 to 60 and the group will invest an additional 10 million Euros until 2022, which is three times the current budget.

Google also explained its goals in relation with artificial intelligence in France. The company will open a basic research centre dedicated to artificial intelligence in France. This is the third centre of the group focused on this field after Mountain View, California, and Zurich, Switzerland. The centre will be included in the Paris head office, which will be extended to an additional 6,000 m2 to become a "campus".

SAP, the main European software designer, announced yesterday its intention to invest 150 million Euros each year in France during the next five years. The investments will be dedicated to research and development.

To boost the attractiveness of France, Edouard Philippe, the French Prime Minister, promised to develop the international education offer in France. The government promises a "tailor-made reception" for families settling in France. "Families will have access to a phone number, an interactive guide and a mapping tool presenting all of the education offer to simplify their processes", said the minister. Three new international high school students should open before 2021.
