Paris: European capital of innovation 2017

Students, Researcher

9th Web Summit

As part of the 9th Web Summit, Paris was awarded European capital of innovation before Tallinn (Estonia) and Tel Aviv (Israel).  The French capital won the prize for defining the "mission to become a 'fabcity' hosting the biggest campus for start-ups worldwide and fostering innovative projects from citizens and entrepreneurs". "Over the past ten years, Paris built over 100,000 m2 of incubators and now hosts the biggest campus for start-ups worldwide" said the European Commission.

The EC sees in the project "reinventing Paris" a fine example of how a city should "foster innovation by inviting national and international talents to redesign many symbolic sites".

The 9th Web Summit opened its doors on November 7 in Lisboa and will attract during 3 days over 60,000 participants from 170 countries around about 20 conferences dedicated to tech.
