Catering, teaching, university services: what’s changing for students

Students, Researcher

Since early February, and in the wake of the latest measures by the French government to fight against student precariousness, students have the option to have their meals for 1 euro in university restaurants and study in their establishment one day a week, while still benefitting from administrative and social services.

University restaurants reopen

Since Monday 8 February 2021, the CROUSes have been managing a gradual reopening of the university restaurants. Students can start taking their meals indoors again, in premises adapted to the strict respect of the sanitary measures in force (limited capacity, social distance, masks, etc.). These meals continue to be offered as take-away meals.

Meals at 1 euro for students

All students, including international students, can enjoy 2 meals per day at 1 euro in the university restaurants. These meals, including hot “home-made” dishes, offer the guarantee of strict hygiene, product quality and a balanced diet at very reduced prices. They are available in one of the 400 sales outlets throughout France. To benefit from this, you just need an active izly account.

Face-to-face teaching resumes

Since the beginning of February 2021, students have been allowed to return to their study institution to attend classes one day a week. This applies to all students who wish to do so, regardless of their level of study. Higher education institutions are currently doing everything they can to receive their students in compliance with the health measures in force.

University services open to students

Despite the exceptional situation due to the health crisis, many services remain accessible to students:

  • The administrative services and libraries remain open and continue to welcome students by appointment;
  • Rooms equipped with computer equipment and the university libraries offer students who need it the necessary equipment to follow distance learning courses. Student reception is also by appointment;
  • Social services of the CROUS and the university health services remain fully accessible, particularly for the psychological support of students.
