French president Macron at the Global Partnership for Education conference in Senegal
Strong commitment by France and creation of a Franco-Senegalese university campus
During the Global Partnership for Education conference held in Dakar on February 2nd, Emmanuel Macron stressed the importance of education in the development of countries:
"Commitment to education is not choice to make or not to make, it's a modern necessity. Today, we are facing the main challenge for all countries, all our societies: education".
For Emmanuel Macron: "Education is the condition for security, stability, sustainable development and progress in our societies. It is the possibility for men and women to choose the life they want. It is the only option to have free societies".
Today, "France will take a simple and clear pledge. France will increase its commitment more than tenfold to reach 200 million Euros for our commitment in global partnership".
The French president used his travel to Senegal to also announce the creation of a Franco-Senegalese university campus.
