France was the guest of honour at the “international education & career Korea” fair. 22 French higher education institutions were present in this event which highlighted the importance of university exchanges between Korea and France. The fair was also an opportunity to unveil the 3rd class of France Alumni Korea. 

First face-to-face fair in the post-COVID era

France was the guest of honour at the “international education & career Korea” fair which took place on 22 and 23 October at the Convention and Exhibition Centre (COEX) in Seoul. A delegation composed of representatives of 22 higher education institutions and Campus France participated in this event, in the presence of Béatrice Khaiat, Deputy Director General of the agency. This was the first face-to-face exhibition in Korea in the post-COVID era. The French “Pavillon” benefited from a VIP location and high visibility for the event.

The numerous Korean students and their parents were able to meet French institutions and attend conferences presenting French higher education and its training offer.

The faces of the new class of France Alumni Korea

In addition to the fair, a reception was organised at the French Residency to unveil the 3rd class of the Faces of France Alumni Korea.

This promotion gathers once again 12 Korean personalities who studied in France and who now have an exceptional career in the fields of sciences, arts, law etc. The patron of this 3rd promotion is Dr. Kim Wanhui, first researcher in Biology at Seoul National University, and her sponsor Pr. Lee Kwang-Hyung, President of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST).

The exhibition highlighted the key role of academic exchanges between Korea and France. The COVID-19 epidemic had a strong impact on the international mobility of Korean students. Since then, student exchanges have returned to normal and are back to a level comparable to 2019.
