France, 3rd "global innovator" worldwide

France kept its 3rd rank worldwide for the 7th consecutive year in the ranking of "first 100 global innovators" in 2017 published by Clarivate Analytics on January 25, 2018. France is also first in Europe.

According to Clarivate Analytics: "In the first budget of President Macron, propositions designed to increase funding to French research show an understanding of the long term consequences of underfunding of universities and research agencies".
