Whic public institutions will apply differentiated enrolment fees?

A full list of institutions likely to apply differentiated enrolment fees is now available. These institutions are under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and award national diplomas. Diplomas awarded by institutions that do not fall under the Ministry’s authority are not subject to differentiated fees. After the decree is published, institutions will be able to decide on the exemptions they will grant to international students (non-EU) admitted in 2019.

Are you affected by differentiated enrolment fees?

To find out more, read our FAQs page. It will tell you which international students will need to pay differentiated enrolment fees and those that will not.

Following the announcement on 19 November 2018 by the French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, that the government was introducing a strategy called “Bienvenue en France” (“Choose France”), the objective of which is to make France more appealing to mobile students, it is important to ensure that international students are informed about increased enrolment fees that might affect them. This information, which is in line with the government’s approaches at this stage, must allow students to make decisions about pursuing their studies in the best possible conditions. The Prime Minister’s announcements will soon be formalised in a regulatory text published in the Journal officiel (Official Journal).
