Peru, a partner with strong potential for student mobility

A DOSSIER Peru (“Presentaiton Study” on Peru) has been published as a complement to the first Peru Day planned in Paris on November 21, 2017 The report presents a sum-up of higher education in the country and an analysis of the attractiveness scheme of France.

Peru is an Andean country with strong potential in terms of student mobility. In 2016-2017, 1,159 Peruvians studied in France, and figures are sharply rising since 2014, thanks to scholarship programs of the Peruvian government (Beca 18 Excelencia Internacional Francia).

Focused on the improvement of the capacities of the country to answer its needs in development, higher education cooperation between France and Peru acts on the following aspects:

  • development and promotion of supervised and individual mobility programs;
  • support to the training of scientific elites through doctoral training, including as part of doctoral schools in life science, engineering science and geoscience;
  • development of a close collaboration with French research institutes in Peru (IRd and IFEA);
  • support to policies by the Peruvian government to improve the quality of higher education;
  • place Campus France for good in the national landscape as the best agency for the promotion, orientation and reception of Peruvian students in France.
