Are you looking for a summer job? Here are some info and advice

Students

Summer is the best time to find a student job. Thanks to an exemption, international students can work longer this year.

Many international students spend their summer time to find a job and work.

Annual worktime cap increase

The French government took several actions as part of the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic, among which the law 2020-734 of 17 June 2020 states  that international students can work up to 80% of their allowed annual worktime  (1,285 hours instead of 964h/year). This derogatory authorisation applies until the start of the academic year in universities and higher education institutions.

This exemption is for international students present in France as of 16 March 2020, and holders of a residence permit with the “Student” label (“étudiant”). This provision does not apply to Algerian students.

Resources to help you find a job

Several online resources facilitate job hunting for students:

  • Jobaviz: Jobaviz a job offers platform managed by the CROUSes that helps students find a job matching their profile.
  • CIDJ: The “Centre d’Information et de Documentation Jeunesse” publishes job offers for students on its website. https://www.jobs-ete.com/ is a website dedicated to offering advice and listing initiatives from the Information network in France.
  • France Alumni: Members of the France Alumni network have access to many job offers from companies looking for multicultural profiles. Users can use an interactive search engine to seamlessly find a job and/or an internship.
