The procedure

Step 1: Posting an internship offer

If you wish to host Kazakh researchers in the framework of this program, you can post your offers on the dedicated portal which gathers the offers for Kazakh researchers of the Bolashak programme. (See below "Post an internship offer").

Please note that if you have already selected a researcher, you do not need to post your offer on this portal. You can also receive proposals directly from researchers who have contacted you, and similarly, if you wish to host the researcher, you do not need to post an offer on the portal.

Step 2: Selection of the researcher

In principle you can select several researchers.

When you have selected a researcher, you must send him/her a scanned hosting certificate by email, written in English, mentioning:

  • the full name of the candidate,
  • the proposed dates of the internship,
  • the field of research and the title of the research on which the candidate will work
  • the training fees (if any)

Step 3: Application for a scholarship

The applicant submits his/her own application to the International Programs Centre. In addition to the hosting certificate that you will have provided, he/she will have to attach, among other things, an application file, a certificate from his/her employer, the internship programme, his/her diplomas, language certificates (Kazakh and foreign languages) and the list of his/her publications.

Please note that Campus France does not intervene in any way at this stage, for which the Center for International Programs is sovereign.

The calendar

  • Opening of the next call for applications for the Bolashak programme "500 research internships": 28 August 2023
  • Closing date for applications: 13 October 2023
  • Results: December 2023
  • Researchers can start their internships as of soon as the list of awardees is published. But given the administrative delays in getting started and obtaining the visa, the date of 1 April 2024 for starting the internships seems the most realistic.

Posting an internship offer

Internship offers from French research institutions and organisations must be posted on the following platform: https://doctorat.campusfrance.org/phd/offers

To do this, you must log in with an account that you have created here: http://doctorat.campusfrance.org/phd/register1

Log on to http://doctorat.campusfrance.org/login , and add an offer via "My offers" then "Add an offer".

For Kazakhstan, you must specify the level required of candidates by choosing the category Master/Doctorate/Post-doc/other, and the country chosen by ticking "reserved for the following countries", then select "Kazakhstan (Bolashak)".

If in doubt, contact the Campus France agency: recherche@campusfrance.org
