French university methodology
New CD on French academic methods just released by the Embassy of France and the University of Rosario
A CD on French academic methods has been produced by the Embassy of France in close collaboration with the University of Rosario. Entitled "Metodología universitaria francesa," the CD meets two related needs: first, for an interactive tool to demonstrate the methods used in the French system of higher education; and, second, for a resource to help Colombia's universities and its student population to understand and master those methods, thereby addressing a recurrent problem for many international students who come to France to pursue their higher education.
Developed by Adelino Braz, attaché for academic cooperation at the French embassy in Colombia, in collaboration with the office of academic innovation at the University of Rosario, the free CD offers a learning approach, activities, examples, and self-evaluations in five chapters:
- What is expected of students in France?
- Introduction
- The essay
- Textual commentary
- Oral exposition
- Other activities
Because it deals exclusively with questions of method rather than of language the CD was produced in Spanish only.
